A Survey on Sexual Gratification in Married Women

Abstract
This survey study on sexual gratification of the married women was conducted to 575 married women (370 in Seoul, 205 in Yong Wol Gun, Kang Won Province) from July 1, to August 31, 1975. The results of the survey were summerized as follows:
1. Having very good sexual gratification in both husband and wife was 19.0 percent and good in both couples was 56.9 percent. The remained 24.1 percents was frigid in both couples or one of them. Fatigue(25.2 percent), fear of gregnancy or using contracptives (16.3 percent) were the main reasons for sexual frigidities.
2. Among husband only felt gratification (24.1 percent), the wife has the problems or deformity of the genital organs due to delivery was 30.7 percent, infectious disease was 28.6 percent.
3. The percentage in both couple felt frigid was considerably higher as 16.7 percent when the age gap between husband and wife was less than one year.
4. The highly educated enjoys the more sexual gratification while the husband only satisfied was 31.2 percent, both frigid was 6.5 percent in primany school graduates.
5. The percentage for male only satisfied in suxual life was 25.5 percent, when the wife has a fear of pregnancy.
6. The percentage for male only felt gratification was 27.2 percent when the husband enjoys extramarital relationship.
7. Premarital sexual experience rate was 31.3 percent of the total at the age of 21-25 years old.
8. Through printed materials or books, 44.2 percent of the total obtainted information on sex.
9. Parners for talking on sex with friends was 45.0 percent, with husband 36.2 percent, with public health workers was 4.2 percent.
